Countdown to Eclipse in Pictures Day 8: The Villains

Countdown to Eclipse in Pictures * concludes with Day 8 as today is the day The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is released, although I'm sure a fair few of us, myself included, saw midnight screenings last night (review will be up later today, but I'm relieved to say it's very enjoyable).

Over the past week we've looked at many images from the series from most used to least used, Cullen couples, Wolf Pack, Bella & Jacob and of course Bella & Edward. But, we always need a good fight too, don't we? So, in the spirit of conflict here are your baddies from the saga!

Wow, looking at these pictures make the release of Twilight feel so long ago, even though it was only 20 or so months. Amazing to think at the time of release that Cam Gigandet was the only very well known actor of the bunch - and now they are pretty much all superstars. But, back to the images: I love the nomads, Rachelle Lefevre as Victoria in particular. They have a feral fierceness that is in strong contrast to everything else in the film. They are powerful, dangerous and unpredictable. Love them.

From one extreme to the next, Twilight has the feral nomads and in New Moon walk the refined, although brutal, Volturi including Michael Sheen as Aro. Great casting for the Volturi, although I was at the time and still rather suprized at how traditional old school vampire stylings they went with. But... did I mention Michael Sheen?

New film, new conflicts and newborn vampires, and an old feral friends in a new way as the role of Victoria is re-cast with Bryce Dallas Howard.

Countdown to Eclipse in Pictures Day 7: Bella & Edward

Countdown to Eclipse in Pictures * continues with Day 7 and with a lot of folks I'm sure heading out to midnight screenings of Eclipse tonight I thought it's a perfect time to showcase the none other than Bella & Edward.

Wow, they really got around all over the place back in Twilight! Other than that, I don't even really need to say anything, eh?

Not surprizingly, there were not many shots of them together in New Moon

Countdown to Eclipse in Pictures Day 6: School Days

Countdown to Eclipse in Pictures * continues with Day 6 on this lovely Monday Morning. I know it's the end of June, but I think I will always associate Mondays with school so what better time to stroll down memory lane of High School in Forks.

Lunch room days with the Cullen vampires. It's all posturing folks. Surprized I didn't find any pictures with the humans, but then again this is the only film where all the Cullens are still in school and that first lunch room scene really is such a great moment that they deserve all the glory here. Also a great shot of the Rosalie Hale scarf (which I've made 3 times now, great scarf - great pattern). I still have no idea how Nikki Reed walked in those extraordinary heels. Vamp powers ftw.

Here are the humans! They survived lunchroom drama from the first year to come back for New Moon. Not that they were in any grave danger from the veggievampires. The humans are always one of my favourite parts of the film, really grounding the high school friend dynamics well and providing a nice contrast of normal lives to the much more interesting adventures of Bella's journey.

More human goodness in front of the big yellow bus. I don't remember any trips in Eclipse, so I'm curious to see where this will be in the film.

Countdown to Eclipse in Pictures Day 5: Bella & Jacob

Countdown to Eclipse in Pictures * continues with Day 5! Since yesterday was the Full Moon and we had a look at The Wolf Pack, why not continue from there and check out images that chronicle Bella & Jacob's relationship through the series... so far...

Twilight - Bella & Jacob

Meeting each other in Twilight, for the time since Bella returns to Forks. They are so young & cute and even the parents are in tow. And a little WOOHOO for Billy Burke & Gil Birmingham - they are great in the series and Charlie Swan & Billy Black

The hair & distance between them gets shorter & shorter as they inch closer and closer.... and Edward lingers in the background for just a moment. Is it just me or did the inside of that truck has grown exponentially since Twilight?

Slightly distanced and concerned, but still hanging out in Eclipse. The second picture is one of my favourites to be released from Eclipse, and even though I love the overall return to the cool tones of Twilight, this one is so warm and cozy by the campfire glow that it feels so soothing.

Countdown to Eclipse in Pictures Day 4: Wolf Pack

Countdown to Eclipse in Pictures * continues and with it being the Full Moon tonight I thought what better time to celebrate the Wolf Pack? Now, I did considering they appear first in New Moon I had to get a little creative, so I hope you don't mind. I'm sure you won't - as they are all great pictures.

On the Full Moon - Today is the Full Strawberry Moon and if you'd like to celebrate the moon and work towards making your dreams come true I highly recommend making a Full Moon Dreamboard. My sister Jamie is hosting a Live Full Moon Telecircle tomorrow - I know I'll be there making my dreams come true!

So, um... yeah. Wolf pack rocks. And they have rock hard abs. Man,.. I do 300 sit ups regularly and I don't think I'll ever have abs like them!

I can't wait to see the Wolf Pack in Eclipse. They are one of my favourite elements of the series and I hope we get to see a lot of them in the latest entry of the saga. Only a few more days to wait!

Countdown to Eclipse in Pictures Day 3: All Hail the Director

Countdown to Eclipse in Pictures * continues and here on day 3 it's Friday, our normally scheduled day for film releases and with that in mind I thought I would showcase none other than the driving force behind the scenes: the directors.

Catherine Hardwicke, director of Twilight

Director CATHERINE HARDWICKE on the set of the thriller TWILIGHT, a Summit Entertainment release, Photo credit Deana Newcomb

We started this Twi-film-journey back on November 21, 2008 with the release of the first film Twilight, directed by Catherine Hardwicke. This remains to be my first film in the series and I loved it even more when listening to the DVD commentary with her alongside Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. Catherine Hardwicke really understood the world and emotions of Twilight, and will always remain awesome sheerly for bring this world to screen.

Chris Weitz, director of The Twilight Saga: New Moon

Almost to the day year later, Chris Weitz helmed the second film, The Twilight Saga: New Moon which was released on November 20, 2009. We got more special effects in this film but I felt we lost a little of the heart. It did however, remain very true to the book.

David Slade, director of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

Update: Here's another David Slade one that is a little more complete to the theme of this series...

I still remember when it was announced that David Slade (30 Days of Night, Hard Candy) was going to be directing the third film, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, out next Wednesday June 30, 2010. First thoughts were it's going to be dark, dark, dark. Less than a week until we get to see for ourselves!

Countdown to Eclipse in Pictures Day 2: Cullen Couples

Now we are officially less than a week away from when The Twilight Saga: Eclipse hits regular theatres. How exciting! Also, the World Premiere is tonight and there is red carpet coverage and going to be streamed in several places including MTV, E!Online, MySpace with a huge list of guests that you can check out here at His Golden Eyes.

But that's not going to be happening for a few hours and we're a while from the film, I've prepared another visual treat for you - a visual history of each of the Cullen couples through the first three films.

This set is my favourite of the three. I always want more Emmett & Rosalie in the films and I think that Nikki Reed and Kellan Lutz do such a great job as this Cullen couple in the films. I particularly love Kellan's deliver as Emmett - it is always so spot-on that it makes for great moments in the films.

Amazing similarities in Esme's shirt in Twilight & New Moon, eh? She really likes purple. Wild. The Twilight image of Carlisle & Esme totally looks like it could be from Eclipse. I actually am loving the fact at how similar the colour stories are from Twilight & Eclipse. Can you spot the out of character Rosalie smile in the New Moon pic? I wonder what she is looking at.

Okay, so I had to cheat a bit with the New Moon on here as they are Jasper & Alice are obviously off to the left, but that was the best option. Looking at this set I'm struck by the fact at how consistent Jasper's hair looks - it feels so different in each of the films .. but the pictures don't like! But I do love the colours in the Eclipse images, love them.

Do you have a favourite Cullen couple or image? Mine is the very first on.

Countdown to Eclipse in Pictures: Least Used Twilight Images

Part 2 of Day one of the Countdown to Eclipse in Pictures *! These images were actually my inspiration to do the series, as I was surprize to find some pics (especially from ) that I'd never seen. So here we have the Least Used Twilight Images! Be sure to also check out todays entry on the Most Used Images.

Agree or disagree on the choices if you wish but I think we can all agree that they look awesome.

Least Frequently Used Images - Twilight:

I ran across this one recently and I'm shocked to say it's only vaguely familiar. Looks like Bella & Edward at the Cullen House to me. I love the lighting on this one, makes it look spooky.

This image was actually my inspiration to do this series of posts as I've never seen this image before. It's Jacob. No idea where or doing what, just being Jacob (he does that well, no?)

Wolf Pack! One of the best parts of New Moon! The image that we see so often is the one with the more golden and brown tones, but I think this one looks great!

Bella & Edward outside the Police Station. Hmm, wonder what's going on there?

So - have you seen them all before, or were they just new to me?
