Poll Results: Overall, my TIFF'08 Experience Was….

Wow, results on this one are quite different than last year where 66% of us thought it was amazing. I know I still had a great time but there were definitely changes I wasn't happy with. We shall see what next year brings.

Poll Results: How early do you line up?

Seems like 30 minutes early is the most popular time to line up and then a split between a long time and a short time. I used to be always arrive early and wait in line but this year I found myself either running from screening to screening or killing time until the house was open for seating. I heard a fair few comments on the line ups at the AMC having line jumpers but it did appear to be resolved towards the end of the festival. Things as I saw them ran smoothly at Varsity and Scotiabank as well as all the one screen venues.

Poll Results: How Full Have the Theatres Been for TIFF?

Most of the Screenings are sold out or very full! I'm a little surprized at this the only screening I went to that had what looked like literally every seat taken was JCVD on opening night for midnight madness. Other than that there were a 2 that were really full otherwise I find there are always almost seats in the front.

In other words, 65% are going to TIFF, 35% are not and of them 21% don't know what TIFF is. For that 21% TIFF is the Toronto International Film Festival, a festival that is held in early September for 10 days in Toronto and bring hundreds of films from every corner of the world to the spotlight. From mainstream films to ones in dialects that one a few hundred people know in the world, TIFF has an overwhelming selection to choose from. It also has lots of glitz & glam with red carpet premieres and stars galore, although personally I'm often at 9am screenings with a tea catching up Midnight Madness, foreign and Canadian films.
