Film Fan Fridays for Friday June 18, 2010

Hello Film Fans and Fanatics!

Welcome to Film Fan Fridays for Friday June 18, 2010! It's been a big of crazy tech land for me late this week so that means it's a dragnet newsletter: just the facts.

In limited release this week we have and even split of limited and wide releases with 3 a piece. In limited release we have Year of the Carnivore, Sook-Yin Lee (Toronto Stories) feature film directorial debut following the journey of an adult woman who is openly naïve about sex and decides on a direct approach to rectify that. Also out this week is the dark drama Winter's Bone which is making positive waves from online journalists this past week. Last up for limited releases is the crime/comedy Holy Rollers.

In wide release this week we have the latest 3D release of the year with aptly numbered Toy Story 3. Also out with lots of hype is Jonah Hex, based on the comic book of the same name and starring Josh Brolin as bounty hunter. Chances are low for me to see this one considering it's written by Mark Neveldine & Brian Taylor who brought us Crank and Gamer and stars Megan Fox, but I know a lot of people are really looking forward to it and I hope they enjoy it! Last up for wide releases is the Bollywood film Raavan.

We also have one mid-week release next week (ah, summer...) with Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz in the action/comedy Knight and Day out on Wednesday June 23, 2010

Have a great weekend!

Shannon
